We are lucky in that Drift House has many features that naturally make things a lot safer than other hotels in the current environment. These include:

• We are small – just 6 rooms and a maximum of 12 guests.
• We are owner operated so have a very tight span of control over all aspects of the business including cleaning/hygiene practices.
• Our suites have direct access from the outside meaning there are no corridors or spaces that you must share with other guests.
• Several of our suites have kitchens allowing you to self-cater.
• We are in COVID-Free Port Fairy where there is so much space and fresh air that it is hard not to physically distance!

In addition to the above, we have implemented the following steps to further ensure guest safety and peace of mind:

• Introduced a flexible cancellation policy allowing guests to cancel or reschedule without penalty up to 24 hours prior to check-in where official COVID-19 restrictions prevent travel
• Insisting that guests adhere to all official social distancing rules and guidelines during their stay.
• Applied additional rigour to our already comprehensive cleaning practices with particular focus on regular sanitising of high-touch areas such a door handles, taps, remote controls etc.
• Providing guests with the option of a self check-in/out so they do not need any contact with us at all if desired.
• Insisting that guests who are unwell or have been in contact with those diagnosed with COVID-19, postpone their stay.
